Ontario geothermal conference to tackle key questions on industry potential

Mississauga, Ont. – The Ontario Geothermal Association will focus on low carbon emission heating in a warming climate and tackle such questions as “Why are we not using more geothermal in Ontario?” at a conference.

The Ontario Geothermal Association welcomes industry leaders from across North America and Europe to their annual meeting Feb. 21-22 in Mississauga, Ont. The theme is Ontario’s Climate Change Action Plan and geothermal technology’s role in Ontario’s energy future – “Will Geothermal Heating Replace Natural Gas in Your Ontario Home?”

The sessions seek to answer these questions:

• Is Ontario ready to have geothermal services delivered like a natural gas utility?  
• In a low-carbon world, what is the advantage of geothermal?
• Why are we not using more geothermal in Ontario?
