Agricultural operations in southern Quebec challenged by drying up groundwater sources
Municipalities turn to province for help

Montreal – Water sources are drying up in southern Quebec, and deeper drilling is still finding little water. Resorting to hydraulic fracking is an expensive proposition which some can’t afford. The crisis is having a profound impact on such commercial operations as dairy farming, vineyards and orchards, and vegetable farms.
