Vernon, B.C. – The quality of the water in Shuswap Lake has become a growing concern in recent years as significant algal blooms continue to take form. The Shuswap Watershed Council says Salmon Arm Bay, Tappen Bay and areas downstream toward Canoe and Herald Provincial Park have been impacted by algal blooms again this summer. Significant blooms were also reported in 2020. The council is concerned for the safety of drinking water, the lake’s overall health and its impact on tourism. Info News report | READ MORE
