B.C. gas pipeline construction triggers more than 50 environmental warnings against company
Company denies responsibility for lake pollution

British Columbia – Coastal GasLink’s construction of a natural gas pipeline across northern British Columbia has led to more than 50 warnings over environmental violations since work began in 2019. Several of the warnings were related the company’s failure to protect sensitive waterways and wetlands. A recent inspection by the Environmental Assessment Office cited the release of pollution into Fraser Lake, but Coastal GasLinks denies responsibility for the environmental violation.
