BCGWA looking for nominations of two directors prior to its April 14 AGM

Positions are for Vancouver Island director, well drilling contractor group director

     Two director positions will be opening this year on the British Columbia Ground Water Association board of directors which are expected to be filled at its annual general meeting on April 14.
     The positions are for Vancouver Island regional director and water well drilling contractors industry group director.
The association is seeking nominations for both positions. Candidates can be nominated by a colleague or can be self-nominated, but must be current members of the association in good standing.

BCGWA board members are responsible for providing oversight and guidance to the association, helping to shape the association’s strategic direction and ensure its long-term sustainability. Board member responsibilities include:

• Attend monthly board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making processes

• Provide guidance and support to the general manager and staff, including:

o  Promoting and assisting with finding participants (speakers ,etc.) for the annual convention and regional meetings

o  Assisting with organization of regional meetings in your region

o  Providing insight into the SkilledTradesBC certification process

o  Providing insight into ongoing communications with provincial and local governments

• Act as an ambassador for the BCGWA, representing the association at community events and networking opportunities

     These are volunteer positions. Board members are to serve two-year terms. Preferably, board members will attend at least 75 per cent of monthly board meetings and participate in committee work as needed. If unable to complete their duties, board members can step down at any time.
