Boil-water advisory issued for Olds, Alta. following water treatment plant power failure

Olds, Alta. – A power failure at the town’s water treatment plant has prompted a boil-water advisory for the municipality.

Alberta Health Services advises residents to avoid drinking untreated water or to use it for such things as making ice, washing fruits and vegetables and brushing teeth. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for about a minute before it should be used for such purposes.

The agency also suggests disposing of previously made ice and disinfecting the trays as well as utensils.
