Boil-water advisory issued for Osoyoos, B.C. as dark brown water flows from taps
Social media images show what appears as sludge

Osoyoos, B.C. – Dark brown water is flowing from the taps in many parts of town, prompting a boil-water advisory from the Town of Osoyoos and Interior Health.
The advisory was issued Aug. 4 because of high turbidity levels. On Aug. 8, the area was expanded. Residents were warned in May that they’d see discolouration of their water because of additional water sources coming online. Several residents have recently shared photos on social media of what appears to be dark sludge coming from their faucets.
It’s been suggested residents boil their water for a minimum of one minute before using it for drinking, teeth brushing, vegetable cleaning, washing dishes and making ice.
City crews are monitoring the affected areas and flushing the distribution system.
