Brokenhead River at risk with water treatment plant construction, residents say

Beausejour, Man. – Local residents are concerned the construction of a new water treatment plant will negatively impact the Brokenhead River, leading to groundwater issues and poor water quality. Although the provincial government has stated the plant will not create an issue with the river, a University of Winnipeg expert says there could be concerns if water levels in the river get low.
