Jan. 18, 2011 – Fleming College is now offering a program designed to educate students on the fundamentals of geothermal drilling. The program is titled Geothermal Drilling Fundamentals and consists of 18 courses.
Jan. 14, 2011 – The Ontario Ground Water Association (OGWA) has announced its regular Spring Regional Training Meetings for 2011. The meeting counts as seven hours of MOE Training Credit for Licensed Technicians, and the training meetings will also feature speakers from OGWA and Fleming College to bring attendees up to date on current and upcoming news and events.
Jan. 11, 2011 – The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) has announced the official Winter 2011 training dates for the CGC Global Quality GeoExchange Program.
Jan. 10, 2011 – The WS 2010 PRO is a sonic water level meter, designed and manufactured by Eno Scientific, to measure static water level in wells. This portable handheld unit uses sound waves to measure the distance from the top of the well to the water level. The company says this eliminates the need to lower anything into the well, preventing well contamination and clean up. Simply place the probe into a well cap opening and turn the unit on, within seconds the unit will display the static water level measurement.
Jan. 6, 2011 – People interested in or concerned about groundwater are invited to participate in an online community via Facebook by the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) The Facebook site, started last fall, is called Water Central, said NGWA Public Awareness Director Cliff Treyens. | READ MORE
  Jan. 5, 2011 – Enviro-Equipment, Inc., and remediation rental equipment, and OxyGreen Corporation, an engineering technology company, have announced the completion of the next generation of OxyGreen Corporation’s patented oxygen generating cell prototype. 
  Jan. 3, 2011 – Rockmore International has announced the latest additions to its ROK Series DTH Hammer product line – the ROK 500 and 500Q. These new patented 127-millimetre (five-inch) diameter class hammers will be officially released at Conexpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas on March 22, 2011.
The quest for clean water has motivated human beings since before the beginnings of history. The quest for clean, renewable energy hasn’t been with us for as long, but it is no less vital. The search for these two necessities will form a lot of the history of the next century.
For those in the ground water industry, the National Ground Water Association’s (NGWA) annual Expo is hard to beat as a destination.
The world economy is highly dependent on energy. As we move forward, more and more of that energy will have to come from so-called “alternative” energy sources, such as geothermal.
Over the past three or four years, home and business owners across the country have benefited from an influx of federal and provincial retrofit grants supporting geothermal installations. But just as quickly as they arrived on the scene, the federal grants have come to an end and some provincial grants will be expiring at the end of March in 2011.
Dec. 29, 2010 – The Ontario Ground Water Association (OGWA) has announced it will hold the 59th OGWA Convention & Trade Show at the Ambassador Conference Resort in Kingston, Ontario. The event will take place from May 26 – 28, 2011.
