Canadian military leaves Iqaluit following its six-week-long water purification assignment

Iqaluit, Nunavut – Canadian Armed Forces personnel are leaving the area, having completed their assignment of purifying water for residents caught up in a two-month-long water crisis. The military was on hand for six weeks, operating a reverse osmosis purification system to enable residents to drink clean water while efforts were made to fix a fuel leak that forced the shutdown of the city’s drinking water supply.
