Class-action lawsuit open to First Nations residents affected by boil-water advisories

Those affected Nov. 20/95 to June 20/21 can apply

First Nations residents who have been subjected to long-term boil-water advisories can now apply for compensation through a class-action lawsuit against the Canadian government. First Nations members who are eligible to apply must have dealt with a boil-water advisory for more than a year within their community. The time frame for eligibility is between Nov. 20, 1995 and June 20, 2021. An $8-billion First Nations drinking water settlement was established in December 2021, setting $1.8 billion aside in compensation for impacted First Nations. APTN National News report | READ MORE
