Wildfires dropped ash on glaciers, speeding up melt

Calgary – Southern Alberta’s water supply is at risk as a result of a warming climate, scientists say. Wildfires in Western Canada last year produced ash and carbon which fell onto glaciers, causing them to melt at a faster rate. Glaciers in the Rocky Mountains are melting at a faster rate than those in other parts of Canada, potentially jeopardizing summer water resources. Calgary Journal report | READ MORE
