Craig Stainton appointed executive director of OGWA

April 4, 2012, Ontario – The OGWA board of directors welcomes Craig
Stainton to the position of executive director. Stainton has been
involved in the ground water industry as a drilling and pump installer
contractor for many years and will be working diligently with the board
to advance the goals of the association.

Stainton has been involved in the ground water industry as a drilling and pump installer contractor for many years and will be working diligently with the board to advance the goals of the association.
Stainton's first exposure to wells and pumps came after his father Ken bought the Beatty pumps and farm equipment dealership in London, Ont., in 1964. Stainton followed his dad from day one. He joined the OGWA board of directors in 2003 and served as president from 2007 to 2009, after moving through the chairs of first and second vice-president, as well as serving as chair of the staff liaison committee for many years. Just a few months shy of starting his 10th year, he resigned from the board of directors in March 2012 to accept the post of executive director.
Stainton is an ministry of environment-licenced well technician in
Classes 2, 3, and 4. With his experience in the industry, he has been
teaching courses at Fleming College for the past few years. He instructs
three modules of the 10-day well constructed training program for
Ontario well technician licence applicants, as well as some of their
continuing education credit courses.
