Cutting a wetland in two would allow access for mining operations in one half
One billion barrels of oil lie beneath Alberta wetland

Fort Hills, Alta. – Suncor wishes to divide a sensitive wetland in two after finding a glut of oil beneath the 3,000-hectare McClelland Lake complex. Sensitive to the concerns of environmentalists, the company has devised a plan to build a 10-kilometre-long wall through the wetland that would separate the protected area from one which would be able to be mined.
