Children’s Water Education Council educates through ground water festivals

Waterloo, Ont. – The Children’s Water Education Council provides a slate of tools for educating students about the importance of water conservation, protection, technology and ecology – among them a list of children’s ground water festivals.

Its goals are to foster decision makers, initiate the process of behavioural change and to empower children to initiate change within their homes, schools and
communities. To encourage children to become catalysts for change by taking information and new found respect back to their own environment.

Founded in 2001, the Children’s Water Education Council (CWEC) is a charitable organization of water and educational professionals.

The organization promotes community-based environmental education by working with local organizations. CWEC facilitates unique water-based programs designed for children that are hands-on and interactive. Currently there are over 25 Children’s Water Festivals across the province of Ontario, that are supported by CWEC.
