Elevated levels of cancer-causing compound found in municipality’s drinking water
Health officials say drinking water still safe

Thames Centre, Ont. – The municipality’s drinking water has exceeded the province’s maximum acceptable levels for haloacetic acids (HAA) – a cancer-causing compound. Public health officials contend the water is still safe to consume in spite of the levels.
