Evacuated Merritt residents returning home, but subjected to boil-water advisory
November 24, 2021 By Ground Water Canada
Merritt, B.C. – Evacuated residents of Merritt are slowly returning to their homes eight days after massive flooding forced their departure. Merritt’s EOC communications manager Greg Lowis said the return of people to their homes was dependent upon one of the city’s wells to be back online, the drinking water distribution systems to be flushed and debris to be removed from the sewage system to enable septic to reach the wastewater treatment plant. Merritt’s drinking water system is working again, but returning residents are advised to boil their water and minimize the amounts being used. CFJC Today report | READ MORE
