Federal government provides update on First Nations drinking water advisories: July 2021

Ottawa, unceded Algonquin Territory, Ontario – Indigenous Services Canada reports that 32 First Nations communities across Canada are still working to resolve long-term drinking water advisories.
There are initiatives underway to address the remaining 51 long-term drinking water advisories in effect. This compares with the department’s last update in March which cited 58 long-term advisories in effect.
