Federal government rejects environmentalists’ call to intervene on highway project

Toronto – A call for the federal government to intervene on the province’s plan to build the proposed Bradford Bypass has been rejected for a second time. The project, which would link highways 400 and 404 to ease traffic congestion, has been mired in controversy as the connection passes through the sensitive Greenbelt, potentially threatening groundwater and endangered species habitat.
