Final Peace Project report issued by GeoScience BC
May 24, 2018 By Ground Water Canada
Peace Region, B.C. – Geoscience BC has published the final report on a project that acquired, interpreted and shared new baseline scientific information about ground water resources in the Peace region of northeastern British Columbia.
The Peace Project was the first large-scale effort to map northeastern B.C.’s ground water, using helicopters carrying geophysical equipment, the organization said in a release. The geophysical data and knowledge generated by the project has greatly increased the current understanding of shallow aquifers in the region. Regulators may use this independent baseline information to create policies to protect ground water resources in the region.
