CGC and partners welcome NB Power’s homeowner incentive program
Montreal – The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition and its members welcomed the news that New Brunswick Power has released a range of energy efficiency and renewable energy incentives including for GeoExchange (a.k.a. geothermal heat pump) technology.
The new program provides a range of incentives up to $5,000 to homeowners seeking to upgrade, save, and build value through highly efficient and renewable technologies like GeoExchange, the CGC said in a news release.
“New Brunswick Power and Government of New Brunswick are showing vision and an understanding of our technology’s effectiveness and its potential” said Pat Rudka, CGC chair. “While many types of New Brunswicker can benefit directly from the improved value of GeoExchange, these new incentives help put renewable, efficient GeoExchange in the hands of lower- and middle-income New Brunswick residents, helping spread the energy benefits more widely and building economic activity.”
In order to receivethe incentive for installation of a GeoExchange system through the new program, energy audits must be conducted, Energy Star – certified heat pumps must be specified, and systems must earn CGC System Certification.
Those seeking decision guidance, more information on certification or on training, in English or in French, may contact CGC or visit geoexchange.ca for further information.
