Green Party leader joins protest opposing disregard for wetlands protection in Ontario
Wetlands serve key role in drinking water filtration

Cambridge, Ont. – Ontario Green Party leader Mike Schreiner joined a gathering of protesters on Saturday at the Dumfries Conservation Area to oppose what they view as the provincial government’s disregard for wetlands protection. The group of protesters noted wetlands serve a number of key functions, including the filtering of drinking water. The protesters included representatives of such groups as the Grand River Environmental Network, the Greenbelt West Coalition, Save Ontario Wetlands, the Wellington Water Watchers, the Nith Valley Ecoboosters, APT Environment and the 50×30 Waterloo Region.
