The association encourages the public to learn more about
ground water and its uses through several resources available on its website, www.ngwa.org :

  • "Groundwater: Out of Sight, But Not Out of Mind,"
an editorial by NGWA executive director Kevin McCray, CAE.
  • Wellowner.org, an NGWA-created website for
consumers, on understanding ground water, the hydrologic cycle, and ground water
    supply and its use.
  • An Awareness Week flyer or logos for posting or
    distribution.

The NGWA website also offers tips on how to be a good steward of
ground water, and your water well, through proper well construction, regular
well maintenance, regular water testing and treatment as necessary, and
ground water protection. It includes three three-minute educational videos.

The association has compiled a list of resources to help
elementary and secondary education professionals prepare lesson plans on the
subject of ground water. These resources and materials may also be useful to
anyone interested in informing themselves and others about ground water. The
U.S. EPA's Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water has online activities for
children. The NGWA's Ground Water Adventurers website is another a resource
aimed at children.
