Oakville, Ont. – Grundfos Canada’s fourth Walk for Water event will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lions Valley Park in Oakville, Ont.

The Walk for Water is a fundraising event developed in partnership with Water Missions International, Grundfos Canada said in a news release. It aims to raise money for impoverished communities in South and Central America and Africa to build wells that will provide residents with clean, sustainable drinking water.

“Water Missions International has been working with Grundfos Canada and other Grundfos companies in America on many projects over past years and is using our pump technology to provide life sustaining clean water to those who need it the most,” said Simon Feddema, president of Grundfos. “Funds raised in 2014 and 2015 are contributing to enormous projects in Uganda and Honduras. We have raised over $23,000 toward this great cause these last two years and hope to more than double that this year, but we need your help. Please consider supporting by sponsoring this event, making a contribution, or by coming out with your staff, friends and family to walk with us.

“We walk a 5 km trail with a water bucket in honour of those less fortunate. We fill the bucket with water at the halfway point and carry it to the finish to experience what many must do each day to survive,” Feddema said. “We know we cannot quickly solve the Global Water Crisis, but with your help, we can save lives and give communities in need clean, sustainable drinking water. Please show your support.”
