Handheld probes with smartphone interface
August 26, 2013 By Administrator
Aug. 26, 2013, Bingen, WA – In-Situ introduced two water quality handheld probes for the environmental market that feature a smartphone interface.
Environmental professionals can use the smarTROLL Handheld Instruments to spot check natural surface waters and effluent waters, and to conduct ground water quality sampling.
The In-Situ app, designed to run on Apple products, allows users to e-mail data to their contacts, tag sites with photos and GPS coordinates, calibrate sensors, and log data to their smartphones. The smartphone technology is designed to save professionals money on their overall cost of ownership.
In-Situ’s water quality sensors are made to be durable, hold calibrations for long periods of time, and require minimal maintenance. For example, the optical dissolved oxygen sensor (RDO Sensor) stands up to daily use, requires infrequent calibration, and uses EPA-approved methods, reports the company in a news release. NPDES permit holders can use both probes for reporting purposes.
Available smarTROLL Systems
· smarTROLL Multiparameter Handheld Instrument is built to measure 14 parameters simultaneously
· smarTROLL Low-Flow Sampling System can be used for routine groundwater sampling
· smarTROLL Rugged Dissolved Oxygen (RDO) Handheld Instrument is designed to measure four parameters simultaneously
