Industrial effluent spill into river won’t impact Whitecourt, Alta.’s water, town confirms

Whitecourt, Alta. – An industrial effluent spill into the Athabasca River has had no impact on the water quality of Whitecourt’s supply, the town has confirmed. Whitecourt’s water intake is from the McLeod River. Drinking water sources, however, are being closely monitored in the wake of an industrial wastewater treatment system overflow northwest of town.
