Iqaluit, Nunavut – A Canadian senator says the territory’s water crisis will take innovative solutions to resolve. Dennis Patterson says aging infrastructure, a shortage of qualified water treatment plant operators and government underfunding have contributed to the crisis in Nunavut. While there is good news for Iqaluit’s future water operations, the remainder of the territory’s access to clean drinking water is hampered by infrastructure and capacity gaps.
