Manitoba flooding precipitates boil-water advisory to be issued in City of Morden

Advisory follows declaration of state of emergency

Winnipeg – Spring flooding in parts of Manitoba is taking a toll on people’s access to clean drinking water.

A boil-water advisory has been issued for the City of Morden following its declaration of a state of emergency due to flooding. Poorly treated water has entered the city’s distribution system, prompting the need to boil water prior to consumption.

Boiled water isn’t necessary for doing laundry or washing dishes, and residents can also safely shower as long as no water is swallowed.

The advisory is in effect until the water system’s state is no longer considered a risk.
