Victoria, B.C. – Thousands of British Columbia businesses and farms in need of groundwater access may have lost their rights with the deadline having passed for the province’s new water licensing regulations. Sonia Furstenau, B.C.’s Green Party leader, had urged the province’s NDP government to extend the deadline beyond March 1, saying her constituents in Cowichan Valley found the process to be complicated, coupled with a lack of support.
