Multi-million-dollar settlement approved for Flint residents affected by water contamination

Flint, Mich. – A $626-million settlement has been approved by a U.S. judge for those in the city exposed to lead-contaminated water. The settlement comes in the wake of Michigan’s repeated overlooking of the risks associated switching Flint’s water source seven years ago. The 2014 switch occurred without treating the water for contamination prevention. The city switched back to the Detroit water agency in 2015 after it was learned lead levels were elevated among children. CBC News report | READ MORE
