Solinst Canada launches LevelVent datalogger

June 25, 2018  By Ground Water Canada

Georgetown, Ont. – Solinst Canada has released the LevelVent, a vented version of its Levelogger water level and temperature datalogger that shares many of the Levelogger’s features, but does not require a Barologger.

The LevelVent combines pressure and temperature sensors, a 10-year battery, and a datalogger with FRAM memory for up to 120,000 data sets within a small 7/8 in. by 7 in. (22 mm by 178 mm) stainless steel housing, Solinst said in a press release. It uses a gauged pressure transducer; it is open to the atmosphere via a vented cable to surface. Custom-designed, durable vented cable assemblies are available to 500 feet.

The datalogger has a compact wellhead designed to fit in a Solinst two-inch well cap assembly. The wellhead connects easily to vented cable, as well as directly to Solinst communication accessories such as the Levelogger App Interface, DataGrabber and PC Interface Cable.

The LevelVent is programmed using intuitive Solinst Levelogger software, which also contains options for downloading and viewing data, as well as real-time view, data compensation and diagnostic utilities. The LevelVent can be programmed in linear mode with sampling as fast as every 1/8th of a second, event-based mode or with a user-defined schedule ideal for pumping and other aquifer characterization tests.

The LevelVent pressure transducer is made of Hastelloy, making it extremely durable and accurate in a wide range of temperature and monitoring conditions, the company said. The sensor provides an accuracy of 0.05 per cent and can withstand two times over-pressure without permanent damage.
