Grundfos asks people to Walk for Water on Sept. 7
Mississauga, Ont. – Grundfos Canada will hold its annual Walk for Water on Saturday, Sept. 7. The company is asking for participants and support to continue helping provide communities around the world with a basic human right – access to clean drinking water.
The fundraising event has been held for many years to fight the water crisis around the world, Grundfos Canada said in a news release.
In past years, Grundfos Canada’s donations have helped with the following projects:
· In Aucayo, Peru, clean drinking water has been provided to more than 1,000 people.
· In Monte Castillo, Peru, both a sedimentation tank was installed to help filter impurities up to 20,000 litres as well as a 7,500-litre clean water tank where a community of 12,000 people could access the clean drinking water.
· In Ivan Vasquez, Peru, a water treatment system equipped with solar energy and the construction of a building that houses it. This project provides clean drinking water to more than 500 people.
· The total cost for the three projects was more than $215,000.
The Walk for Water will take place at Erindale Park in Mississauga, Ont., from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 7. All participants will receive a t-shirt and lunch.
Grundfos Canada invites associates, family and friends to join its team on the day to participate in the five-kilometre walk.
