Grundfos Walk for Water set for Sept. 23

August 30, 2017  By Ground Water Canada

Oakville, Ont. – Grundfos Canada’s annual Walk for Water is set for Sept. 23 at noon at the Lion’s Valley Park in Oakville, Ont.

Every day, millions of women and children in developing countries walk nearly four miles to retrieve water to their family’s daily needs, the company says on its website. In most cases, even after walking for miles and miles, the water they have to drink is contaminated.

The Walk for Water will simulate this trek to raise awareness of the global water crisis. Each participant will start the walk with an empty bucket. About halfway through, they will fill that bucket with water and complete the remainder of the course. We hope that all participants end the walk with a better understanding of the challenges people around the world face daily in search of something that we often take for granted – water.
