Northern Ontario lake tests positive for blue-green algae, but municipal water supply is OK
Treatment plant has protective barrier

Northern Ontario – Ramsey Lake has tested positive for blue-green algae, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has confirmed. The local health unit warns that water from the lake should not be used for consumption, adding boiling the water will release toxins from the algae. The municipal drinking water supply is protected, however, as the local water treatment plant has a barrier against algae. CTV News report | READ MORE
