OGWA postpones convention amid COVID-19 concerns

St. Thomas, Ont. – Following the precautionary measures suggested by Health Canada and in consideration of public health and safety, the Ontario Ground Water Association has postponed its 68th convention, annual general meeting and training session, which was set for Minett, Ont., March 27-28. The new date will be announced as soon as possible.

“The spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) must be taken seriously,” the association’s board and staff said in a news release. “It is the OGWA Board’s intention to keep in line with best practices around the prevention of and the potential spread of COVID-19 within the population.”

The OGWA expressed its appreciation for members’ support and understanding. The association will keep members informed of developments as the situation evolves.

A refund policy and procedure is currently being developed and the OGWA will inform members of their options soon.

The Ontario Ground Water Association will share information regarding rescheduling of the training course in the coming days through email bulletins to its members.
