Okanagan Lake turbidity leads to precautionary water advisory in B.C. district

Central Okanagan, B.C. – A precautionary water advisory has been issued for customers of Westshore Estates and Killiney Beach water systems.

Increased turbidity at the Okanagan Lake water source, as a result of high stream flow, has led to the advisory which affects upwards of 600 customers in total.

Residents have been advised to boil their water in the meantime until the matter is resolved.

The advisory is to continue until testing confirms the water meets safe Canadian drinking water guidelines.
