Ontario Green Party officials want gravel mining permits stopped to protect groundwater

Elmvale, Ont. – Ontario Green Party leader Mike Schreiner attended a Save Our Water rally here yesterday, saying threats to groundwater by gravel mining need to stop until they are better understood. On World Water Day, he filed a motion at Queen’s Park to initiate a moratorium on new gravel mining permits.
