Long-term water advisories need to end

All municipalities in Canada must have immediate equitable access to clean drinking water and not be subject to long-term water advisories, an opinion piece published by the Excalibur suggests. Author Tiffany Tang states that 20 per cent of the world’s freshwater supply is found in Canada, but there are still about 34 communities in the country having to deal with long-term water advisories. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in his election campaign of 2015 that long-term advisories would end by March 2021. A year later, 34 continue to exist. Excalibur report | READ MORE
