Opponents of proposed Bradford Bypass say it will trigger groundwater contamination

Barrie – A proposed new Ontario highway, that would serve as a shortcut between highways 400 and 404, is getting mixed feedback. Those who oppose the Bradford Bypass suggest the project could lead to groundwater contamination and increased greenhouse gas emissions. Those who favour the new highway, including Bradford West-Gwillimbury Mayor Rob Keffer, say the road will actually help reduce emissions due to the shorter amount of time it takes to drive on it.
