Quebec municipalities want disclosure about industrial use of water

Montreal – More information is needed about the industrial use of water in the regional county municipality (MRC) of Vaudreuil-Soulanges, west of Montreal. Saint-Lazare, a part of the MRC, recently called on the provincial government to disclose information about groundwater consumption. Municipal officials want the next elected Quebec government to mandate industry to pay more for their water usage. The region is concerned the water table is being depleted.
