Pennsylvania – Wastewater treatment doesn’t prevent forever chemicals from reaching agricultural crops, a study conducted at Penn State University states. The chemicals, also known as PFAS, enter wastewater treatment plants and reused for irrigation purposes. Soil acts as a PFAS filter, but the chemical structure of PFAS difficult to degrade.
