Researchers find massive groundwater system under ice on Antarctic continent
Study to see how discovery affects climate change
May 6, 2022 By Ground Water Canada
Researchers have mapped a massive system of groundwater in western Antarctica and are studying how the polar continent reacts to or affects climate change. The mass of interconnected lakes and rivers in sediments under the ice may contain the largest amounts of water ever. The research team’s lead scientist says the amount of groundwater found is significant enough that it probably influences ice-stream processes. Electric City report | READ MORE
