Conservation, rising fees attributed for reduction

Saskatoon – Water use in the city has been reduced almost in half over the past 40 years, but further reductions must be made if the water treatment plant’s capacity isn’t expanded, an administration report suggests. Water-efficient fixtures and appliances, increases in water fees and recognition of the need for conservation have been attributed for the reductions in per capita water usage.
