The National Ground Water Association is reminding ground water professionals and the public that Sept 4 is Protect Your Groundwater Day.
The day provides an opportunity for people to learn about the importance of ground water and how the resource impacts lives, the NGWA said in a news release.
Throughout August, which NGWA has dubbed National Water Quality Month, the association will be sharing downloadable/shareable resources and information on the initiative.
NGWA recommends that water well owners have their wells checked and tested by a certified and/or licensed contractor every year to ensure water safety. Learn more at Wellowner.org.
Everyone can help spread the word on social media by using hashtag #PYGWD.
