The call for Groundwater Week 2020 educational programming submissions is now open, and the deadline to submit a science session proposal, abstract, conference paper, workshop, product demonstration or field trip is April 26, 2020.

Share your knowledge, technology transfer, unique applications, practical solutions, and experience with fellow professionals from all sectors of the ground water industry – contractors, manufacturers and suppliers, scientists and engineers – who will gather in Las Vega, Nev., Dec. 8-10 to explore solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges during Groundwater Week 2020, the National Ground Water Association said in a press release.

Workshops will be held on Tuesday, as well as during limited times on Wednesday and Thursday. They are allotted 60 minutes inclusive of question-and-answer periods and should be designed with learning objectives in mind. Workshops must be non-commercial in nature and oriented toward technology transfer or skill enhancement. Topic areas include the following:

  • Business management
  • Drilling operations and well construction
  • Ground water modeling
  • Ground water monitoring
  • Hydrogeology
  • Hydrogeophysics and remote sensing
  • Safety and compliance
  • Sustainable and available ground water
  • Water systems
  • Water quality
  • Well maintenance and rehabilitation

An area will be allocated on the exhibit hall floor Wednesday and Thursday during exhibit hall hours for product demonstrations, which will be allocated a total of 60 minutes to confirmed exhibiting companies.

Scheduled for Friday, these “free-standing” offerings should pertain to ground water research or application, or water supply, in some manner. Ideally the site should be within one-hour’s drive of the Las Vegas Convention Center and the activity planned to last four to six hours.

There is no cost to make submissions for these events.

Submissions must be made online through the National Ground Water Association’s conference management platform and are due by April 26, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Learn more.
