Student’s drinking water safety project lands him spot on STEM competition team
Sixteen-year-old is part of Canadian team to participate in U.S.-based competition

Winnipeg – A 16-year-old city high school student, who recently submitted a research plan entitled “Detection of Harmful Microorganisms in Drinking Water using Deep Learning,” will represent Canada in June at a STEM project competition south of the border. The students chosen to participate were selected based on their STEM skills, including ingenuity, critical thinking, scientific excellence and communications. Keerthan Kamala Krishnamoorthy said his research plan uses a phone app to analyze water, learn what’s in it and determine if it’s safe to drink. CTV News report | READ MORE
