Testing underway to determine if Muskrat Lake affected with toxic blue-green algae
Drinking water is OK for now

Ottawa – Testing has begun by the Renfrew County and District Health Unit to determine if what appears to be blue-green algae blooms in Muskrat Lake are harmful. The algae hasn’t been detected in the municipal drinking water system for the Township of Whitewater Region, but testing is ongoing. Blue-green algae release toxins into the water which can cause vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain if consumed in high concentrations. CTV News report | READ MORE
