Trees to treat ground water focus of webinar

of Common Groundwater Contaminants," a one-hour webinar presented by the
National Ground Water Association, will take place June 5 at 1 p.m.
EST.

April 30, 2012, Westerville, OH – "Introduction to the Phytoremediation of Common Groundwater Contaminants," a one-hour webinar presented by the National Ground Water Association, will take place June 5 at 1 p.m. EST.

Attendees will learn how trees can remediate many common ground water contamination problems during this online presentation by Dr. James E. Landmeyer, a research hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey.

Fundamentals of phytoremediation processes with respect to groundwater contaminants will be addressed, as will the installation and monitoring of phytoremediation systems. Case studies of the implementation of two such systems at sites characterized by BTEX-, MTBE-, and PAH-contaminated groundwater will be described.
