Saskatoon – A University of Saskatchewan researcher is studying “hotspots” around the world where groundwater availability is diminishing and is helping to devise solutions that can be tackled by local communities and governments. The most vulnerable of the drying water basins impact more than 1.5-billion people. The application of integrated water resources management is one such process that promotes co-ordinated water management. The strategy is tied to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
