“Margaret has demonstrated exceptional leadership in further developing existing WSC programs as well as establishing a new initiative, the Water Well Trust, which provides wells or rehabilitates existing wells for low-income individuals and families in the U.S.,” said Bo Andersson, president of the WSC board of directors, in a press release.
Martens received her Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University. She is the co-founder of two non-profit organizations in Charlotte, N.C. that serve the housing needs of low-income families and individuals.
